Kanika Lawton is a Toronto-based, Vancouver-born writer, editor, and film scholar.
A multiple Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee, she is the author of four micro-chapbooks, most recently Theories on Wreckage (Ghost City Press, 2020). She has received fellowships from Pink Door and BOAAT Writer's Retreat and have been published in Ricepaper Magazine, Vagabond City Literary Journal, Longleaf Review, Cosmonauts Avenue, and Parentheses Journal, among others. She is the Founding Editor-In-Chief of L'Éphémère Review and serves on the Editorial Board of Sundress Publications as Assistant Staff Director. In 2019, she was a guest editor for Glass: A Journal of Poetry's Poets Resist series. Kanika holds an MA from the University of Toronto Cinema Studies Institute and a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Film Studies from the University of British Columbia.
